After the unfolding of some very interesting and fresh designs on day one and two at the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016, here’s a look at the happenings from day three of the fashion event.
Hi-5
The day started with Hi-5 show, showcasing 5 talented designers, all presenting different themes. Abhi Singh rocked the runway with monochromes in the hues of black and bold, while Shalini James kept it earthy and neutral with the new form of layering. Aditya Duggar brought back the aura of dhoti pants and Poonam Dubey kept it uber chic with summery flared skirts. Chayya Mehrotra soft separates collection gave us some beautiful pieces to lust on.
431-88’s MISFITS by Shweta Kapur
Shweta Kapur is known for her modern women centric designs crafted for comfort and style. This season Shweta Kapur brought yet another fascinating concept to the runway, MISFITS. Her collection MISFITS was based on the concept of two contrasting designs curated in one look symbolizing modern powerful women. Sarees tugged and draped with shorts, zipped ankle length gowns, high waisted pants with shorts and net detailing did give us major inspirations for a modern edgy look.
Nikhita Tandon
Renowned designer Nikhita Tandon masters the art of creating beautiful silhouettes with thoughtful interpretation of femininity. This year at AIFWSS 2016, she beautifully represented structured whites and blues in strong silhouettes. Feminine vibes had a major moment at the ramp and pristine whites and cold blue were marked as colors of summer 2016. Show stopper Lauren Gottlieb spread the magic on the ramp with a very dramatic white textured high low dress.
Archana Rao
Archana Rao’s collection dazzled the ramp with her perfectly blended summer collection. This collection encompasses everything pretty for the summer, soft toned colors, sheer yet sculpted garments, flowy silhouettes, cute belts; this is one collection that defines the summer in a perfect way. Pernia Qureshi looked fabulous as a show stopper in a crisp white collar shirt tugged into a maxi skirt with a belt making a statement.
Virtues by Ashish, Vikrant and Viral
Virtues was all about ethnic wear put brilliantly in sheer fabrics, floral prints, golden accessories and glittery detailing. Models in flowy maxi dresses, capes, sarees with floral headgears made a mark on the runway while the show stopper in pink minimalistic embellished lehenga took up the dramatic quotient of the show.
La Playa Blanca by Payal Jain
Payal’s La Playa Blanca collection takes us to the beach city of Spain with sandy runway and beach ready collection. Payal Jain’s collection is all you need to beat the summer heat on the beach. Knits, cut-out detailing, embroideries were the high point of the show but we just could not take our eyes off the gowns, kimono, off shoulder tops depicting the perfect beach party in summer.
Nida Mahmood with Adidas
Nida Mahmood in collaboration with Adidas stole the show with some edgy prints, interesting head gear, colorful attires and platform sneakers. This was one dramatic yet super chic collection we witnessed at AIFWSS 2016.
Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal
No summer is complete without the bohemian attires in our wardrobe and Anupama Dayal brought us just what we needed to prep up our closet for this summer. She spread the boho vibes on the ramp with her collection Anupamaa, which showcased rich hues of red, orange, green in bohemian attires. Playful jumpsuits, colorful dungarees, spaghetti tops and skirts with a tint of retro look, who wouldn’t want one of these!
Amit Aggarwal
Fancy baby doll dresses, patchwork on footwear, metallic sheen? If yes, then Amit Aggarwal’s collection is all you need to see. The collection was filled with eye-catching, quirky garments. We loved all the looks from capes to skirts but patchwork wedges made our day.
Sanchita
Patchwork detailing didn’t get restricted to Amit Aggarwal’s show. Sanchita’s collection too had some fine patchwork along with flowy silhouettes. Abstract art was the mantra at Sanchita’s show and we are drooling over those itinerant looks.
Anamika Khanna
Anamikaa Khana closed the day 3 with a spectacular line of looks. The collection showcased some of the finest minimalistic designs all having an Indian Sporty feel to them. The collection was a juxtaposition of black and white separates with minimal embellishments. Elements of chikankari, embroideries in patchwork, metallic detailing were the highlights of the show.
I hope you loved the designers collections at #aifwss16 .
Till next post stay beautiful stay sexy.
