First four days at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 were nothing short of spectacular, star studded with Bollywood hotshots, fabulous designs gracing the ramp, celebrity show stoppers and what not! But what blew our minds off was the grandest of all, most opulent shows of the event, Rohit Bal’s closure to the fashion extravaganza, the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week 2016, Koroshini!

We haven’t seen a grand finale grander than this one! You ask why? Well, first it was a Rohit Bal’s show, so luxury fabrics-exquisite designs were an obvious, second Kareena Kapoor closed the show looking all elegance and royal (did we tell you already we are in love with her outfit :D) and third you will fall in love with the set, literally and when we say literally we mean it! 😀  The show was held at St.Xavier’s College Mumbai and presented an impeccable backdrop to even stunning dresses made by the designer! You still doubt its grandeur? Wait till you look at the photos. 😀

The show was named “Koroshini” which means illuminate in Urdu and we can safely say the collection did illuminate the ambience. Rohit Bal returned to Lakme Fashion Week after a several years and when he did eventually he made sure to make it worth the memory even years after it. The collection had some very regal designs all in royalty of whites, blacks, golden, royal blues and reds. Anarkali, long drapes and jackets, sherwanis, lehenga and sarees in stunning silhouettes and with embroideries to die for, were the few highlights of the show. Another USP of the dresses was all the fabric used was organic, so responsible fashion!

Talking of the showstopper, Kareena Kapoor, the face of Lakme, looked nothing less than a dream in her red and golden embroidered, royal blue lehenga. The Lehenga had beautifully made moon motif on it that had us spellbind. Kareena told to the media the designs of the dress is special and she would love to keep it as a family heirloom. This was the first time Kareena Kapoor walked for Rohit Bal and praising Kareena, the ace designer said Kareena is a vision. she understands fashion at this young age, she understands spirituality and is sharp and intelligent.

What made the show the best grand finale so far was the venue. The show was held at St,Xavier’s college in Mumbai and with such monument in the backdrop who wouldn’t fall in love with the whole feel of the show!
