“There is a real power in a good dress.”
Hola Guys!
India Fashion blogger team is back in Goa after a fortnight long holiday spent in Uttarakhand, travelling around, exploring places, attending functions and what not. I surely had a hell lotta fun. 😀 Talking of function, I am so psyched to show you what I wore to a function in Haldwani and how I gave a traditional look a new makeover! So let’s wait no more and get started on the look! 😀
Indo-Western Outfit:
First things first, the outfit! It was my sister-in-law’s engagement and so I was on a lookout for an outfit that is A) Traditional enough to fit in B) Contemporary enough to stand out! 😀 And I have been utterly lucky to find this beautiful exquisite indo-western piece by Pranjal Kadkade!
This beauty is from their latest collection the Holy House and is fully hand-painted and crafted with breathtaking floral zardosi work. Bonus point for it being in sunset hues, which are by the way the color of this season! What I like most about this outfit is inspired by south Indian culture and how beautifully  it depicts fusion. The layered blouse which goes all small and sexy at the back over a plain ghagra swept me off my feet. I have tried so many fusion looks before and most of them required a lot of effort with the outfit to convert it into indo-western but this one here is so effortlessly fusion! And you can see it is a one sleeve dress, so checking all the right boxes!
Enjoy the pictures –
Accessories:
Outfit done! Time to accessories! Now this outfit is so heavily embroidered that I dint want to over accessorize it so I went with minimalistic pieces. I inculcated fusion in my jewellery too so I wore a pair of Rajasthani kundan bell earrings and a big diamond hand-cuff. Since the dress got one sleeve so to balance out the other hand I put on henna going all up on the arm, giving it a perfect mix of traditional and western!
Make-up:
You guys know I don’t like to smother my face with make-up be it any event. So I went with my signature heavily kohled eyes with dramatic liner and mascara and neon retro peachy pink lipstick and a bit of illuminator for the glow! I also used a bit of primer, light foundation as usual. I used the entire product from MAC because it was a family function and I wanted the makeup to stay in place for a long time! Now I wanted my hair to be sass! Thus I experimented with bohemian braids with curls and guess what it turned out to be perfect! (and so fusion) 😀
This is all for today folks! Tell me in the comment below what do you think of the look. 😀 Until the next time, stay stylish, stay beautiful. XOXO
