This entire week has been super busy for me as I was stumbling between apartment hunting, shopping festivities, Halloween and Karwachauth celebrations and of course Gionee India Beach Fashion Week Season 2! I am writing to you with hands that want to be pampered with manicure, feet as swelled up as a pumpkin and heart that just want to go back to the fashion week again.

Nothing is better than coming back home after witnessing spectacular collection from the talent bunch of our country. I was literally blown away with the shows in Season 2, because as compared to season 1, Season 2 was much bigger and better. What amazes me even more is the upsurge in the collection of new designers that are taking the world by storm.

One such designer whose show I have been desperately waiting to go was Shweta Puthran. I came across her collection at the pre-event show and I was thrilled by the beautiful mix of patterns and color palettes and since then I was eagerly waiting to attend her show on Day 1. Shweta Puthran hails from South India and recently launched her label “Shweta Puthran Label”. It was her first collection to hit the ramp and you can immediately tell by her collection how immensely talented she is.  Her collection “Southern Sway” showcased some phenomenal designs all inspired by the grandeur of South India and made to compliment the body as it’s another layer of skin.

What I personally liked in her collection was it being inspired by the place she come from, every single piece of the collection replicated the southern splendor and even the tiniest details of the clothes were blended beautifully.

Talking of the curves and cuts, again this collection had something to amaze you when you even in the first glance. Flowy fabrics, bright hues and the quality of the fabrics all dazzled me.

The general conception about the beach collection is it to be filled with sheer fabrics, bikini and swimwear but relaxed cruise wear is something I was looking for a long time as it is more wearable. This collection as filled with such pieces. Colorful pants, capes, shirt dress and what not!

My personal favorite piece from the collection is the red printed high low shirt dress with a little embellishment. Now the sleeves of this dress had some drama added to it, the dress would look like a cape but then it’s a shirt dress, win-win! 😀

My next favorite piece is a layered maxi dress. The Maxi dress had layers in different tones of same color and it makes a perfect dress for an evening beach party. Hint of little embellishment made it look so glam that I could not take my eyes of the dress.

Another one exceptional piece was blue pants which had a temple like window printed on it in pink and light blue; this is one piece that could go a long long way in anyone’s wardrobe. You can pair with one toned tee or wear it with a long flowy top and you are all set to hit the beach.

Generally beach wears are filled with water downed neutral colors but Shweta Puthan gave her collection such a pop of colors that made it very difficult to resist her collection.
I really can’t wait her collection to hit the stores and buy my favorites. <3
