Magic and Power from the Land of Nagas: ‘Fight & Feast’ by Anupamaa Dayal

“Fight and Feast by Anupamaa Dayal”

When I envision fashion and my personal style, I think of clothes that speak diversity, patterns that depict power and designs so fierce that they cannot be ignored. If that’s your mantra too then you gotta see Anupama Dayal’s ‘Fight & Feast’ collection at Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016!

Day 3 of AIFW AW 2016 saw some interesting design unfolding on the runaway but the one show that had us eye-popping was Anupama Dayal’s. The lady designer’s creation has always fascinated me but this time she surpassed the expectations and I was left awed by her creations. She presented an enigmatic, fierce collection based on rich culture of tribe of Nagaland and believe me when I tell you that one can feel the energy and power by just looking at the clothes she designed. I was so glad that I had a chance to meet her in person for a preview of her collection; story about my experience with her is coming soon on the blog. 🙂

Talking of collection, it was a splendid blend of tribal prints coming from various tribes from Nagaland. Oh and the colours! <3 The collection was filed with bright and bold colors perfectly capturing rich Naga culture. Hues of spice green, tangerine, marine blue, bright yellow, this is all you need to brighten up your winter wardrobe. What makes this collection treat to eyes and soul is the fabric used; khaki and blend of silk giving soul to semi-structured silhouettes will capture your heart like none other. Apart from the fabrics and prints, is the feel of the designs. I felt in the immense state of power, glory and victory when I held one of her designed pieces in my hand, it was love at an instance!

What most I like about the collection is, it’s so edgy and different and yet so wearable, it gives you an edge above other normal regular winter clothes. Long maxi dresses, wrapped dresses, bold separates etc all with dramatic prints is a win-win for winters. Also the boxy print and stripes mixed with tribal prints is such an amalgamation of brilliance that couldn’t be expressed in words. And and not to forget the fierce and dramatic accessories wore by her models on the ramp! <3 Those headgears and long earrings just stole the show!

Well a few words cannot describe what Anupama Dayal presented on the ramp, but in all it was power, rich culture, unexplored designs, symmetry with asymmetry and a lot of hard work! You go girl! I really can’t wait for this collection to hit the store and get my personal favorites.

Tell me in the comment below what do you think of her collection and stay tuned for more fashion week madness.

Love! <3
