The Ministry of Textiles with the support of Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India and in association with all textile Export Promotion Councils is organizing India’s Largest Textile Show. TEXTILES INDIA 2017 will witness a collection designed by fashion entrepreneur Manish Tripathi, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 30th June.
Amongst a select panel of established fashion designers, Manish Tripathi is mandated by the ministry of textiles and will be presenting their stylized looks in the fashion show to be held on 1st of July.
Manish Tripathi will be showcasing garments designed in Maheshwari fabric which has a unique concoction of Cotton and silk. For the designs and colour palette he has taken inspiration from the picturesque forts and palaces of queen Ahilya ofMaheshwar, and the flora from tropical forests of Madhya Pradesh. To add to the details in the garments, mukaish, hand and machine embroidery, block prints, and few other intricate techniques have been used.
On the occasion he speaks of his inspiration “Maheshwar was our first field-trip from NIFT in the college days, around ten years ago. It was a very intriguing experience at that point, as that was my first tryst with the handloom craftsmen.Ever since, it has been my dream to work on this sector. On having Ministry of Textiles give me this opportunity, to put forward this collection from Maheshwari fabric for the prestigious platform my excitement has doubled and I’m looking forward to the association.”
The event will witness many International buyers, designers and political members such as Smriti Zubin Irani, Ajay Tamta & the union finance minister will also be gracing the occasion.
