Fashion weeks seem aspirational, we all want to either walk the ramp or grab the first-row seat at these world-class events. Here is a list of 10 of the most famous fashion shows in the world:

1-Australian Fashion Week

The Australian Fashion Week gives a global platform to the fashion of Australia and whole Asian Pacific region. It first started in 1995. Sponsored by Mercedes Benz, the show usually showcases Spring Summer collection.  Designers like Lisa Ho, Zimmerman, Alex Perry, Toni Maticevski, Leona Edminston and Collette Dinnigan put forward their collections in this fashion week which happens to be a great platform for retail buyers and global fashion houses.

2-Los Angeles Fashion Week

This is a bi-annual event which is held in March and October. It showcases the fall collection in October and spring collection in March. This fashion week is sponsored by many businesses and fashion houses and has taken ethnic Southern Californian Couture to an international level.

3-Berlin Fashion Week

 Also known as the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Berlin is the newest entrant into the list of the most famous fashion shows. It started in 2007 and is organized by Berlin partner BmbH as well as the Berlin Senate. BFW is a destination for fashion houses and designer couture from designers like Dorothee Schumacher, Ewa Herzog, Fyodor Golan, Emre Erne Mogle and the likes.

4-Tokyo Fashion Week

 As the world knows, Japanese are known to excel in every field! So, of course, they don’t lag behind in the fashion department. High-end ensembles, unbeatable fits, glitzy couture and lots of glamour rightly define this Asian fashion week which is getting bigger and better every year. The show has gone far and beyond its native boundaries of Japan and has recently forayed into Italy and India.

5-Lakme India Fashion Week

 Lakme India Fashion Week is one of the most glamorous and high-end shows held on a bi-annual basis in India. This show has promoted the Indian craftsmanship and design sensibilities all over the world. Organized by the Lakme and IMG Reliance, the show is getting bigger and grandeur with every passing week. Ace designers of the industry like Rohit Bal, Vikram Phadnis, Ritu Beri, Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee showcase their work here. 6-Madrid Fashion Week

The most prestigious fashion even in Spain, the Madrid Fashion Week also known as the Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week is often a bi-annual event which takes place in Madrid, Spain. The shows are organized by IFEMA which is the trade fair in Madrid and has been in action for over five decades.

7-New York Fashion Week

It is the top fashion event in New York one of the fashion capitals of the world. It rates among the ‘Big Four’ Fashion Weeks which includes Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. It is held in February and September each year and showcases the creations of big names in the Fashion Industry. It was first held in the year 1943 and was the first ever of its kind organized anywhere in the world. The intent of the New York Fashion Week is to also showcase the American Fashion which in history was always overshadowed by the French Fashion Industry.

8-London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week stands third on this list of world’s top ten fashion shows. This international show is organized on a bi-annual basis by the British Fashion Council and is sponsored by the Mercedes-Benz company. The collections are displayed every year in winter, during the month of February and in summer, during the month of September. Some of the biggest names participating in the show are Jean-Pierre Braganza, Mark Fast, Nicole Farhi, Osman and more.

9-Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week is one of the most illustrious shows in the fashion industry known to organize massive and magnificent shows twice a year. The show places second on this list of world’s most coveted fashion shows. The show began as a small-scale fashion week in the year 1958 by its own company, Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana and soon it reached the peak of success that other shows could only dream of. The show is home to the world’s most prestigious fashion houses like Dolce & Gabanna, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Prada.

10-Paris Fashion Week

The greatest of all fashion shows, it is one of the most celebrated fashion weeks held in bi-annually in Paris one of the four fashion capitals of the world. The event is held to showcase Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter collections at the respective times of each year. Top Fashion houses display their works in this event. Dior Homme, Louis Vuitton, Comme des Garcons Homme Plus, Paul Smith are just some of the big names associated with this event from a list of several others.
