I landed in Goa a week ago, since then I have been eagerly waiting for Gionee India Beach Fashion Week to start and here it is! GIBFW is all set to kick off its second edition and I cannot tell you how excited I am to witness the amazing collection by some of the very talented designers of the country. Goa will see GIBFW starting from October 29 to October 31 at Lalit Golf and Spa Resort; these 3 days will absolutely be filled with spectacular shows, beach parties and irresistible glamour.

Second edition of GIBFW will see collection of around 45 designers, with the designer Anupama Dayal opening the fashion week with her collection dedicated to free spirited bride and renowned designers James Ferreira and Rocky S being the final designers for Day 1 and Day 2. Where Rocky S is all set to present a collection where the lavish meets the simple with a bit of sparkle, Ferreira’s collection will be inspired by Paul Christian’s iconic art.  What I can’t wait to see, is the Grand Finale on Day 3 by Wendell Rodricks, Rodricks’ collection ‘Ahead of the Curve’ will celebrates the curved line on seams, hems, silhouette, style lines with minuscule details.

GIBFW will not only see the celebrated designers of the country but also new designers making their mark in the industry and a bunch of talented first timer designers. What I witnessed at the Amazon India fashion Week Spring Summer, is that the beach wear has gone a complete transformation and designers are bringing in new and exotic idea to compliment traditional beach wear.  New approaches and concept fluttered at AIFWSS 2O16 and same is expected from the designer parade of GIBFW season 2 which includes collection by emerging designers Babita Malkani, Asmita Marwah, Riddhi Siddhi, Dimple Raghani, Kamaali Couture by Kamaali Mehta, Shilpa Reddy, Urvashi Kaur, Dev N Nil, Manoviraj Khosla and Mayyur Girotra.

I am also watching out for young first timers at GIBFW, it is always mesmerizing to see what the fresh talent of India envisions as fashion and how articulately they put it on the runway. The young designer parade will showcase amazing different collection which I am sure will definitely  change the way we are going to dress up for the beach. Lately during the fittings and pre-collection show the one collection that caught my eyes was ‘Southern Sway’ by young designer Shweta Puthran.  Mesmerizing bright hues in silk, chiffon, neoprene, scuba and cotton silk left me amazed and now I am looking forward for her show on day 1. The collections are inspired by the glory and exhilarating beauty of South India and Man! One could tell by her designs how beautifully she has put together a collection that depicts the grandeur and rich heritage of South India.

I can’t wait to attend the GIBFW starting tomorrow and give you the lowdown of the three day event. This time it got even better and bigger and I am absolutely thrilled to be there.
