This Diwali dress “HATKE” ft. Soucika!

Diwali is just around the corner and there’s so much excitement in the air! Not only it’s the time for fun, frolic and festivities, it’s also the time for fashionable attires! 😀 And I love the latter part of this festival! 😀 New dresses are bought; old pieces are utilized every year this time. But unlike previous years if you want to don something “hatke” this Diwali, we are here to guide! We will help you to channelize your inner fashion goddess in a different way this Diwali! Wanna know how you can dress “hatke”? Read on! 😀

  1. Not so traditional!

With everyone wearing traditional if you want to standout this Diwali you can go for not so traditional attire! What we mean by it is attire that is not traditional yet has a traditional touch to it. The key is keep the dress western and the accessories Indian and don’t forget to add bling to your attire. For starters, you can opt for a sparkly dress paired up with juttis or mojris, hath-phool (ring-bracelet) and an ethnic bag.

  1. Reinvent your Ghagra-Choli!

If you want to wear ghagra choli but differently opt for a skirt and top that look like ghaghra choli but is entirely a different dress. This will give you a feel of traditional while wearing a western outfit! We’d love to replace our ghagra-choli by this Orange and yellow chiffon skirt and top duo by Soucika. If you’d love that too, don’t forget to team it up with chunky head gear!

  1. Something old, something new and something ethnic!
If you want to buy something new this Diwali and at the same time want to utilize some of your old clothes, we have a solution for you! Try buying something that is not exactly a dress but an accessory to the dress. Like this Multi-color ethnic jacket that can be worn over a dress to give an indo-western feel or over a suit for completely traditional feel. How are we gonna wear this, you ask? Well, we will wear it over an lbd! 😀

  1. One for the Saree lovers!

Bitten by the saree bug? 😀 we are too! But to break the monotony, we always try to inculcate new draping style different blouses. Our current favorite is this combo of peplum blouse with crepe saree draped differently. You like?

  1. Ethnic Gowns!

We love Fusion, hands-down. But with Diwali preps on the go it gets difficult to indulge in such tedious task, so we are always on a lookout for pre-stitched fusion dresses and this one here has our heart! <3 This black chiffon draped gown with cut work yoke is so hatke that it is on the top of our list for perfect for Diwali celebration and shenanigans! 😀

6. For card/after parties!
If you have one or two after party to attend, you obviously can’t repeat an outfit or wear similar outfit. So always choose a different dress than what you already have. Since its Diwali you would have already planned to wear traditional outfit, we say invest in a urbane modern outfit like this ethereal gown! This is velvet, glam and right kind of sexy! 😀
