How often should you wash your hair?

‘your hair is your crown that never gives up on you even if you let it down.’

So there’s always this question that we stumble with when it comes to washing your hair. The world has different theories. We have all heard two extreme opinions, so there’s always this flashing thought when it comes to when to wash it. We have all heard shampooing less often is better for your hair. Or perhaps you’re thinking of ditching shampoo and joining the no shampoo movement in search of healthier, better-looking hair.

So let me tell you there’s no single answer to how often people should shampoo. You may not need to do it as often as you think. It usually comes down to personal preference and your hair type with your styling choices.

So it’s all up to you to find out and set your routine. It comes down to where and what you do if you are a person who is out most of the time or a college student who goes out literally every day then its better you wash it once in two or three days as staying out can cause your hair to turn greasy and become oily too soon. But then if you work in an air conditioned place then your scalp gets too dry so shampooing too often can cause foliage soon so in that case you can concentrate on making sure your hair is well conditioned and moisturized regularly.

Hair that’s thicker and curlier can go without a wash for longer than hair that is fine. How processed your hair is will also come into play, because the oils in your scalp don’t travel down the hair shaft as quickly in hair that’s coarse, curly or processed as it does for gals with beautiful hair.

Shampoo traps oils, so if you do it too frequently, you may dry your hair out, leaving it prone to breakage.Hair produces a natural oil called sebum, and shampoo is an emulsifier that captures and traps excess oil, dirt, and product residue, which you then rinse out to clean the hair.
For the most part, some dirt is natural, and you want some oils to remain in your hair.
They provide moisturizing and a protective barrier for your skin and hair.

But then if you are a person who exercises every day and sweats a lot and lives in very humid places washing it every day is advised.

The trick is to find a shampoo, conditioner, and a mix of products that balance your scalp and hair so you can wash every third or fifth day. If one has finer hair, then you could go for a volumizing shampoo, so the remains light and won’t get greasy too fast. If you have, dry, thick hair I’ll recommend something that will moisturize and balance the scalp and hair.

The final answer to your question :

At most, try washing your hair every other day. Every two days is even better and if you can make it an entire week then go for it! If your hair gets oily after only a day, try using some hair powder or dry shampoo on your roots to soak up some of that excess oil. There are also tons of products for in-between wash days that will help.

Cheers!
